Fulgoridae is a large group of hemipteran insects, especially abundant in the tropics, with over 125 genera worldwide. Size varies from moderate to large, many have a superficial resemblance to Lepidoptera due to their brilliant and varied coloration. The genera Fulgora and Pyrops are sometimes referred to as lanternflies, though they do not emit light.
