Barnard 68 is a dark absorption nebula located towards the southern constellation Ophiuchus. It appears to be space devoid of stars, but it's really a dark cold dust cloud on the verge of becoming a star in about 100,000 years or so. Using infrared imaging 3,700 blocked Milky Way stars can be seen through the nebula. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnard_68Paul Morales
