Japanese artist Motoi Yamamoto (b. Hiroshima, 1966): 'Return to the Sea'. Yamamoto's sister died of brain cancer in 1994. While in mourning, the artist made a three-dimensional model of her brain. Fascinated by the patterns he saw, Yamamoto considered how these would appear flattened, then transmuted those into a work of art in salt. The public is invited to destroy each installation after several weeks by bagging up the salt, which is then returned to its source, the sea. KAsd
