The Monroe Building is right down the street from the Chicago Architecture Foundation office. This Romanesque-inspired 16-story building, designed by Holabird and Roche (1912) recently underwent one of the most impressive (and award winning) restorations in the city. Rookwood tile floors, walls and vaults are especially impressive in the lobby. During OHC visit the Pritzker Military Library inside, and an active office floor. www.openhousechic...
